It was started with establishment of 100 centres and 108 training programmes were organised for the awareness of the farmers during the period of operation
It was launched in 2016.
Benefits of Cow-Based Economy
Since time immemorial, India has been agrarian country and cow has been its backbone.
Compost & fertilizers made from cow dung are organic, natural & cheap (close to zero investment) sources to increase yield for farmers.
Farmers can save money by developing Gobar Gas plant.
The cow based farming maintains ecological balance beautifully and the fertility of soil increases with the use of cow based products. This makes it possible for farmers to take multiple crops in an year and earn profits.
The organisation of training programmes for the awareness of the farmers under PDDUUKSY is a welcome step by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. More need based support must be provided in critical areas to agricultural universities for strengthening and quality assurance of higher agricultural education in the country. The training programmes for farmers in the field of organic farming, natural farming and other latest technologies should also continue for the benefit of the society as a whole.
